Exempt development – Garden Shields

If your Garden shed doesn’t meet the Exempt development requirements then it may be possible it can be approved as Complying Development.

Complying Development

Complying development is “Fast Track Approval” and the shed must meet all the specified criteria of Policy.

Complete Certification is accredited to issued Complying Development approvals on behalf of Council. The approval documents are then provided to Council for their records.

If your Shed doesn’t meet 100% of the criteria it must be approved by council

Once we have reviewed your proposal and we have been fully engaged we will send you a checklist confirming the requirements for the approval. This is because each project is different and may have requirements that others do not.
This can vary depending on the project, approval type and council. For a standard shed and provided we have received all the requirements in a timely manner, we average shed approvals to be:

Two (2) Months – Development Application & Construction Certificate
One (1) Week – Complying Development Certificate
